The focus of my books are Romantic interactions, the relation of Romanticism to the rationalist and empiricist traditions, the tensions between the imagination, reason, and faith. These books bear the names of individual Romantic poets in their titles, but they go back in time to the seventeenth and eighteenth (and earlier) centuries and—while offering close readings of poetry, reflection on poetics, analyses of linguistic practices and techniques—they revolve around timeless (and timely) questions which pertain to the domains of religion, cultural studies, philosophy, art, and psychology.
